Outpatient Treatment in Laconia, NH

Our outpatient treatment program serves patients with substance use and/or co-occurring mental health disorders at any point in their treatment journey. You may be stepping down from a more immersive level of care, like a residential, partial hospitalization, or intensive outpatient program. You may be at the beginning of your recovery journey, or you may have years in recovery and need support to stay on your program.

Outpatient treatment is the least immersive level of care we offer. As a patient in our outpatient program, you determine the amount of treatment you receive. Most patients choose hourly sessions once or twice a week, while some attend sessions every other week.

The outpatient level of care is appropriate when you need support for SUD or a co-occurring disorder, your symptoms do not prevent you from meeting your family, work, and/or school responsibilities, and you have a safe, stable, and supportive home or living environment. During outpatient care, you may augment your treatment with community and peer support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Many patients at this level of care attend daily support meetings and weekly or biweekly outpatient counseling and therapy at kathy ireland® Recovery Centers.

What is Outpatient Treatment?

During outpatient treatment, you receive the same set of evidence-based treatment approaches you receive in residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. The difference is that you choose when and how often you engage in structured treatment. Your schedule, your treatment preferences, and your recovery goals drive the shape of your treatment plan, in collaboration with your clinical team.

You initiate the treatment process the same way any patient at kathy ireland® Recovery Centers does: with a thorough prescreen, evaluation, and assessment. Your program consists of all the essential components we offer at the more immersive levels of care. Your outpatient program includes:

  • A full biopsychosocial assessment
  • Comprehensive medical evaluation
  • Medication review and management
  • Screening and treatment for co-occurring disorders and history of trauma
  • Personalized case management
  • A safe, comfortable healthy healing environment
  • Evidence-based treatment
  • Case Management and Aftercare support

At the outpatient level of care, we teach practical skills to help you regulate emotions, manage the symptoms of substance use disorder and/or co-occurring disorders, and support your independent life in recovery.

Outpatient Treatment: Your Time, Your Terms, Your Recovery

During an outpatient program at kathy ireland® Recovery Centers, we accommodate your busy family, work, and school schedule to create a plan that meets your level of need:

  • Stepping down from another kathy ireland® Recovery Centers program?
    • We apply everything we learn about you in your first program to your outpatient experience
  • Stepping down from another level of care at a different treatment center?
    • We communicate proactively to learn everything we can about your individual needs, and integrate this information into what we learn during your prescreen and intake assessment
  • Initiating SUD treatment for the first time?
    • We give you a solid foundation for sustainable recovery
  • Returning to support and care after relapse to reconnect to recovery?
    • We can help you get back on track
  • Returning to support and care in times of stress to prevent relapse?
    • We can keep you on track, shore up your ongoing sobriety plan, and reinforce all the work you’ve done until now

At the OP level of care – whether you’re new, stepping down, or have years of recovery –  your personalized, integrated, treatment plan will include a combination of the following therapeutic approaches:

  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
  • Experiential Therapy: yoga, meditation, mindfulness
  • Expressive Therapy: music, art, writing
  • Community and Peer Support Groups: Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), SMART Recovery, Refuge Recovery

Your plan will change with you. As you learn and grow in recovery, the makeup of your treatment plan will, too. Your plan and your treatment team will accommodate your individual needs as they arise, and fine-tune the plan as needed but in the end, you become the expert. You decide what works, what doesn’t, and which elements of your plan give you the best chance at maintaining sustainable, long-term recovery.

Case Management and Aftercare Services

As an OP patient at kathy ireland® Recovery Centers, a case manager participates in your treatment from the time we meet you until the time you finish your program. They advocate on your behalf and ensure you get the appropriate care at the appropriate level at the appropriate time – but their focus on you doesn’t stop there.

When you’re in outpatient treatment, that means you manage your sobriety independently most of the time. Our case managers will connect you with services that support you and promote sustainable, independent recovery. They’ll connect you with local 12-step meetings, help you make doctors appointments for basic medical care – something people with SUD often neglect – and help you find any community services than can help you create a stable life and thrive in recovery.

You Can Rebuild Your Life

We know that SUD and mental health issues can cause serious problems with employment, housing, and food stability. In the event your SUD or mental health disorder creates the need for support and assistance with these fundamental needs, your case manager can provide referrals for the following:

  • Vocational training and placement services
  • Services to address housing instability
  • Services to address food instability

The purpose of case management and aftercare services is to create a support system that sustains you for years to come. Your ongoing sobriety will take work and commitment – just like treatment – but as time passes, you learn exactly what you need to stay on track, and exactly what can impede your progress and trigger relapse. Your aftercare plan includes contingencies for emergencies, should they arise. It’s also your blueprint for a recovery lifestyle that encourages your independence and overall wellbeing.

You focus on recovery. We focus on you.

Our Outpatient program provides a safe space where you learn the skills you need to navigate recovery and live a full, independent life based on your personal vision of health and wellbeing. The team at kathy ireland® Recovery Centers is here to offer compassionate support and evidence-based treatment. When you’re ready for change, we’re ready for you.
